Having served for over seven years as a Title IX Coordinator at three major universities across the U.S., Ameerah has first hand knowledge and experience of how higher education administrators and campus law enforcement approach their policies and procedures.
During her time as a Title IX Coordinator, Ameerah has overseen thousands of Title IX investigations, hearings, suspensions, expulsions, revocation of tenure proceedings as well as case dismissals. Ameerah knows firsthand how college and university Title IX offices and disciplinary boards typically handle their cases, including the biased tactics used by some to pressure students and employees. Ameerah is experienced at navigating the often complex politics of the academic environment, including when the nuances of a case call for moving quickly or being patient. As a former Title IX Coordinator, Ameerah understands how important it is to know and apply the subtle technicalities of the relevant policy.
In addition to her experience in Title IX, Ameerah has also served as the Chief Diversity Officer for several universities and a non-profit organization. This experience has provided Ameerah with expertise in developing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategic plans, operationalizing organizational wide objectives from the Board of Directors to front line staff, while also representing organizations to internal and external stakeholders.
